I'd like to gather all the parts I need before I get started on my brake job...Just wondering if anyone could tell me if there's any seals/gaskets that will need to be replaced when I replace the front rotors and pads on my 4WD 1987 22re pickup.

I've searched for a parts fiche online but haven't had luck locating one...if there's one out there could you guys point me in the right direction?

inner and outter wheel bearings, you can use either RTV or get some of the hub gaskets from the dealer. gonna need the inner wheel seal as well. Also gonna need a 54mm socket for the hub/axle nut. Make sure you get the hardware kit for the calipers, they are the brass pins and retainer cotters for those pins as well as the pad hold downs. Depending on how long they have been on yur gonna mash up those brass pins getting the pads out. Gonna need a torque wrench for the axle nut to properly preload the new bearings. Might also want to pick up some new cone washers as you will most likely mash these up getting the hubs off. Don't forget bearing grease, personally I like using marine bearing grease for its water repelling properties.

I believe the trail gear knuckle service kit will have most of the stuff you need in one package, but don't quote me on that.

Brake pads and rotors you can get local or get them with your service kits, bearings, gaskets, seals etc.

It's an easy job.

 

Thanks guys, I appreciate the responses. I ended up doing the job today. It was a real mess. I didn't replace the bearings or the cone washers since they all looked and felt fine. Getting the old inner seals out was kind of a PITA but not too bad. What took the longest was cleaning the old grease out.
