Shoes, you oughta think about a 5 spd. swap, Itd really give your truck a kick in the rear

At first I never wanted to take the 3.0 over 4000, but after I did run it up into 4000-5000 I realized that it was running very smooth at high RPM's, it likes it! Definatly run your motor somewhat hard once in a while just to make sure there are no small animals dwelling inside OH WAIT!! the 3.0 itself is a small animal!

I used to hit 5000 to 5600 all the time. I remember one time I was towing my boat from atlanta back here to home about 200 miles. I was in a hurry to get home so I towed at 70+ miles per hour. That engine ran 4600+ 95% of that trip.

Now, since I had a burnt valve at 130k or so, I keep the revs below 3500 most of the time. Also, it helps with gas mileage and longevity. I now have right at 200000 on it, and need to get 250000 before all is said and done.

I do like to press the ECT button sometimes to get it into power mode, then surprise other cars at stoplights.

Just let it run for 5 or 10 min in the morning before you take off. Might even place a plastic bag across the grill for the warm up.

Ok, does anyone know the resistance values that are telling the tranny not to shift? If I had more time, I'd unplug the thing myself and read it with a meter. This "feature" has to be easy to defeat.

If someone knows the location of that particular temp sensor I'll measure it today.
