Out Of Control Idle

I have a 89 22re 4runner. When I put my foot on the brake the idlegoes all over the place.any help would be great.

The most obvious thing to look for is a vacuum leak in the brake booster or the vacuum line that connects to it. The line is the more common failure.

This is a very common problem and comes up once a week or so around here.

Search for 'fluctuating idle' and you'll find the answer.
