Unhappy One Sad 4runner

after work today i come out of the mall and see a security vehicle parked by my 4runner and a guard standing there looking at it. I come running up to see a window smashed out, glass everywhere, a door open, a tire slashed and my sub/amp gone.
I had just put my subs in yesterday and I have had the truck since friday.
3 days :[

Sorry to hear man =( Those bastards. My buddy had recently spent $700 on a stereo, sub and amp, 2 days later his 4runner was stolen just for the stereo equipment. Amazing what some low-lifes will risk to get a little bit of cash.

Wow! that totally bites man, I was just saying to a buddy today about how I use to haul my subs and box out every night till I got an alarm....but hey if those chumps really wanted them an alarm doesn't really help. Sorry to hear that bad news. did you take photos of your gear?? Everything that goes into my rig gets logged with my insurance, I hope they cover it!!

there is a bonus to living in a small city on Canadas east coast...I have only been hit once, it was home in the yard.
Left the window open. Lost my Pioneer truck riders and a case of CDS

I have a replacement glass for the window, unscratched. Front passenger it appears correct? www.car-part.com shows $85. I'll sell for $50 + Shipping from Oregon. PM me if interested. BTW, replacing front glass is VERY simple, 5 minutes of your time

Mother ☺☺☺☺ing theifs!

that really sucks, and having only liability insurance must be salt in the wounds....

This is pretty much why I have full coverage on my ride.

Did the rent-a-cop go after them?

Condolences bud...hopefully there is karma in the world. I've only been hit once about 10 years ago and I still dream of torturing the little bastards who did it (but the medication is helping a lot).

ya that sucks man! i had the same thing happen.
my remedy was to build a custom box. The subs are screwed down with one way screws, the amps are enclosed in the box and the box took me and 4 of my friends to get in the truck, so if it happens again they are pretty much going to have to destroy the equipment to get to it.

Did you come bumping into the parking lot? How did they know you had subs?

I love the people that advertise to thieves with big ALPINE or Pioneer stickers across their windshields.

Sorry you were a victim this time.

that sucks. ive gotten into the habit of locking up the front cab part of my truck, cause not too too long ago i had a $100 bill stolen from my wallet when i walked not 20ft away for 10 minutes to dismiss a group from an after school activity. talk about lame. had to go tell my parents about it too, cause it was from someone paying them back for some busted windows.

which brings me to another story about sad truck time. ive got a friend that drives a tundra. big ol v8, some nobbys, the usual. anyways, after school im walking the block to our offcampus parking lot, where the juniors are supposed to park, when i see a big group. now im leadership at our school(military academy) and i figured, ah crap, im gonna have to knock some heads. all 125lbs of me. lol. i walk up and my bud looks po'd like crazy. im like, whats up dude? some kid had just keyed his truck BAD, steel deep, and he wasnt happy. well, i told him not to do anything stupid, and he says, alright, im gonna go back to the school. he was parked next to me. im standin by my truck, he had backed in, he starts it up and guns it, peels all the way out.

at this point, im going to explain the parking lot. dirt and gravel. done. so 3 windows and about 50 paint chips and 10 deep gouges later, hes out of the parking lot and headed back to the school. didnt even know he had done it till i caught up with him at the school. now remember, i was standing next to my truck. we pulled a softball sized rock out of my cab that had gone through my plastic window piece, the window, and had put a dent in the inside of my door on the other side. i had heard it go by my ear, i got pumled.

we're still good friends to this day. i just dont park next to him. lol. still havent gotten the dents pulled and painted either. need to get on that. yep. i hate bad truck days.

I agree with the above posters about advertising.

Get an alarm and screw the box and amps down with Torx bolts/screws.
