once again, front axle stubs won't pull out!

I was replacing my 5.29 with 4.56's. I have a truetrac in the front currently. Now, we can't get the inner axle stubbs to pull out so we can proceed with the rest of the job. I've already done this once before when we had to pull them for other reasons. Before we just loosed the carrier bolts to hopefully take them out of a bind, but this time nothing works. It has tension rings or clips that hold them in that seat in a grove in the diff. I guess the tolerances are alot tighter in the truetrac vs. the factory front diff. Anybody had the same problems or any advice??????????? Oh yeah, its an 88 4runner 7.5 front.

The step where the use a hammer and a screw driver to drive the inner axles out isn''t possible with the truetrac. We have used everything to pull them out from the outside. The clips are boogered up inthere I figure. Mostly because, I'm guessing, the place inthe truetrac where the clips seat into the groove, must be tighter.
