OME 2 inch lift springs

Hey guys I have an 87 toyota 4runner that has a case of the sags in the rear and I was wondering if the 2" life leaf springs from ome would fix my problem. Also some 1.5" ball joint spacers up front to level it out. Will I run into any problems just doing those two things? Thanks in advance!

Yes they'll work. You'll also need bushing kits, ubolts recommended, possibly new shackles - depends on rust condition on parts. Beyond this would be new shocks and upgraded tbars. There are several threads on the OME lift components if you search. When you do the bj spacers think about replacing steering/ifs wearable joints if they're worn/high miles - you get fresh steering and trail spares

essentially yes you're good to go. i chose not to use upgraded tbars when i did my OME leafs, other people do them, it's really personal preference. they are thicker/stiffer and more designed for strength when combining extra lift with weight (like winch/bumper or overlanding gear).

as for the steering stuff, it's not necessary if you don't want to. my theory is that if you have lots of miles they do wear and gain slop with time - now you're changing the operating angle from what they're accustomed to. they may wear faster after a lift or even fail once a new owner starts beating on what used to be a street rig. also if you live in rust belt things deteriorate a little faster. they don't have to be done when you do the lift either, it's just one of those PM things and it will make your rig feel new IMO.

Yes, the OME 2-inch system is probably the simplest, most robust, properly-engineered, and field tested and proven upgrade and fix for the sag (See defrag and ruined adventures threads; they have put those through the paces), and something I'd like to do someday, when I have time and budget.

Watch out for the leaf pack clip bolt that may hit the pinch weld of your fuel tank. (pic)

Some also use a differential drop to keep angle of CV joint NOT as steep.

If ever you decide on using the BJ spacer and/or the differential drop, please let me know; I need to find a good home for:
  • A pair of 4Crawler BJ spacers, pic
  • A differential drop kit (pic)
  • Swaybar rop kit (pic) and
  • The proper OME shocks for them (pic).

Got those from Mark (Chefyota), but I changed my plans. More pics are here
