I have a 88 4runner V6 with auto transmission, the AT oil temp light comes on and off, even right after a cold start up. Changed fluids and filter and also changed sensor, but nothing worked.
Looking for any ideas on what may be causing this light to come on and off.

You could just do what I did: Give up looking for the cause and add a tranny cooler to keep the temp down. See the link DJK-West provided above. Good luck!

 

my runner did the same thing when i baught it but my charge light was on too. my problem was the alt was bad
