Yes the hubs, since the seals are gone I would take out the bearings check them and replace the seal on the back side of the hub also. If its like that the grease has broken down and liquified.

Guess I'm adding it to the list.
Dang maintenance! Can't ever do anything fun to the truck it seems.
But its good because I need to resurface the rotors may as well do it all at the same time.

What do you think about this.?

Its "maintenance" right? If the wife complains it is just something that needs fixed so I can drive it safely to work everyday.
If I get em refurbed it has all the seals and rings right. May as well have them purdy too. That will kinda be a fun addition to the truck.

It is maintenance to repack your bearings every so often and the fact that the grease is broken down is a cause of lack of maintenance. And then turns into a safety concern.

No that's not really what you need. Those are just the locking hubs. The paper gasket for the hub dial is about 1 dollar. The bearings we are talking about are in your actual wheel hub.
If you have the tools you can redo your own locking hubs for far less money than that.

You can buy the gaskets and o-rings for the Aisin hubs from your Toyota dealer for less than $20, and cleaning them up and rebuilding them is pretty straightforward. Probably 2 hours work max. Do a search on this forum for several "how-to" descriptions.

I saw LC engineering has em cheap.
I can both the star and round gaskets for under $6
Tried posting the link but I'm on a phone and the link doesn't send you to the gasket page, just the home page. Screen shots come out crappy too.

There's an additional seal on the front dial. I think all 3 seals/gaskets for them are between $5-10 per hub. Really not much to cleaning them. 4x4wire or Pirate has a really good thread w/ pictures. But not enough grease in the hubs themselves to cause your issue.
It looks like your wheel bearing grease has failed. Time to repack. New bearings are only about $40 I think. Labor to repack them is probably about 2-2.5 hours. You'll also need new axle/bearing grease seals on the inside side that are about $15/side. Or you can do it yourself. Can either buy new bearings in advance or check once you get the wheels torn down. You should notice play when wheels off the ground if bearings are loose/lacking grease.
Have you recently done any water crossings above the axles by chance? That might pull both water and grease out which makes more sense than the grease doing it all on its own.

Looks like you've identified your problem...
To clarify, if you've regularly checked for bearing play, and this is new, your bearings are probably fine. If you haven't, they could be bad... If you quickly you get around to repacking after the grease washing out, you should be fine... These OEM bearings are pretty hardy.
Here's the good pic thread for Aisin Hub rebuild: http://forum.ih8mud.com/79-95-toyota...b-rebuild.html
(If going over your axles in water, it's a good to do maintenance item regardless.)
