oil filters
For the 3VZE V6 are there any brand oil filters better than others? Any good recommendations on oil brands to use? Castrol GTX high mileage? (138k miles) Are most of the conventional high mileage oils the same?
Thanks

Toyota filters are probibly the best - I use the purolator PremiumPlus filters in mine, along with penzoil 10w-30

ive used Fram in all of my cars and everyone else in my family has used them. theyre cheap and work just fine, never an issue. i typically buy whichever oil is on sale. normally it comes down to valvoline-which is what toyota uses anyways. i just dont think its necessary to spend $10 for an oil filter. just my .02

the issue i have with fram filters is that they're not as good as a number of other filter choices in the same price range...oh and the one with teflon in it too.

Thanks for the info. I have a 84 22r motor that I just changed the oil on. I used a fram filter, drove it about 40 miles and saw a little oil seepage. I guess it's off to Napa for a Gold! By the way, does anyone run Royal Purple? Do you think I'll be ok using it? Or should I switch to Mobil 1?

Wix or AC Delco filter (no bashing! it uses the same filter as my wife's Saturn so I buy them at the same time ) and the 5 quart jug of Mobil 1 5W-30 from Wal-Mart for $22.xx.

Well, I went and got a wix filter to replace the Fram. so far so good. Does anyone know about rear main seal leaks? Is it a regular thing with the 22r? Is there a permanent fix? or rather an inexpensive( having to keep dropping the trans) fix?
