i just got mine the other day, i had a few problem but nothing real big, i don't like the pipe that connects the header to the cat, it was to short on my truck and the other thing is i had to trim the air injection tubes for the pair system cause it hit the welds on the header. but uther than that its a good header, you will have a little bluing because its stainless

Well, sounds like Junkers LCE header has the same problem with the pair system hitting the welds.
What did you do for the short pipe? And were you able to get it sealed up no problem?
I have an exhaust leak, no point getting these if its just going to give me a shinier exhaust leak..

That sucks. I am still considering this. I am going to regear first and if there is any money left over, its going towards an exhaust system. So this will help me still put headers in even if money is a little thin. Thanks for the help!!

Since they are modeled after pacesetters, is the downpipe to the cat 2 inches or 2.25? Looks the same diameter as the pacesetter exaust system, which is 2 inches. But it's tough to judge by pics, as opposed to someone who just installed them! Thanks guys

Well, look like I am going to have to make a decision soon. I had an exhaust stud that kept backing out, this time I went to tighten it back up and its free spinning, so I am gonna replace with headers sooner then later and helicoil my head. Just gotta see where the money falls to figure out which ones.....

Not a budget header, but I just put a NWO header. It has a THICK flange and is a gasketless header. I ordered the stud kit with it, and it fits like a glove!
It has a ball type collector, and the tail of the collector slides over the stock pipe.

You would ask.....I don't remember right off the top of my head. I'm guessing around $400 or so? I bought the header way back at the beginning of the summer, and just put it on last weekend. I will say that the fella I talked to on the phone was very helpful, and answered all the newb questions I had about hubs, and told me that I could reuse my stock studs, but odds were that I might have to stack a few washers in places to get it to tighten down. I think the stud kit cost me less than 15 bucks and comes with new nuts as well.
I have had cheap headers, and good headers. The money saved on the cheap headers is all ways off set buy the HUGE pain that they cause with poor fit, warped flanges, blown gaskets and all the rest of the problems.

my collector is a ball type but it slips up into the end of the mid pipe, the mid pip is flared on one end and it has 2 long bolts with springs so you can pull it together.

The header for the 87 doesn't have that fitting. It's the standard pacesetter style fitting. Time to make up my mind. Still can't decide.....

ok i got my header all finished up today, i had to helicoil the head. the only problem ive had with the header is i had to drill the 2 bottom holes in the middle of the header the bit i used was 15/32's. and i had to sand the pair system flanges but other than thay the header sounds and looks good
