O2 connector backwards

Hey yotafam,

90 sr5 pickup v6- My trucks running doggy again, runs great but low power. definitely not as snappy as it used to be and mileage is down to 180/tank. Put a new cap n rotor on and it picked up a bit for a few days but was never 100%. Going to change the o2 sensor and they all come with a female end connector and mine has a male. I went to another auto parts store and all the ones they can order have the female end. Tried a search here and found nothing, what do I do now? Is there a male/male connector I can use to jump the two? My o2 has a male end and the harness a female end. Looks stock so I dont think anyone messed w it.

Thanks
bob

OK got it figured out. Its a commiefornia edition o2 sensor. On the rock auto it showed a california emissions o2 sensor and it has the male end and fits. Just installed today will test tomorrow and hop it makes a huge difference. Got some platimun plugs too but ill change those after to see if the sensor swap makes a difference. Was hard to find brake parts for this truck, it has different front calipers and pads than most. The calipers look different and the pads are rounded. Hopefully I get better mileage than 180 per tank.
