Sounds like dirty contacts or that lock switch. <--Located in the left side of the tail gate latch. Theres a white 3-wire connector that you will see near that side(it may be under the tailgate on the inside) unplug that connector and jump a piece of wire to the first and third terminals and leave it there. Jump the Female end of the connector going toward the wiring harness.

Ok! Problem solved!! Finally got around to playing with this a little. Took the console out and the switches. I took the switch apart and the little metal rocker in it had REALLY dirty contacts. Sandpapered them clean and put it back together. Works like a dream.
So my problem was a faulty switch that had 23 years of dirt and food crumbs in it. I love free fixes.

Oh yeah, man.......I know how it goes. I'm finally doing something about my 4rnr's LSPV..........after ten years. Ha!! I just don't care for brake fluid. It stinks, it burns, and forget washing it out of your clothes. Bah!
