Not a broken CV axle seal... what could it be?

Hello Yotatech

So today I noticed a few very large drops of brown goop on my driveway from my 4runner. At first I thought it was oil sludge, but then upon further inspection I had realized it was all coming from where the CV axle seal connects to the diff., but the seal wasn't torn. So that leads me to wonder, what could it be coming from? It's too thick to be diff fluid. The mess is all over the wheel well too.

Also I've recently develoepd a slight vibration from 20-30 miles per hour which I believe originated from this leak.

Any help I can get I would appreciate.

edit: I don't do any wheelin' either. The only thing this car drives on is pavement.

are the boot clamps not sealing the boot to the axle? if the greese leaked out it could be causing you vibration.
