Non vent wing doors and cracked window sash mount

While trolling the junkyard the other day I could not help but notice how many 84-88 Toyota trucks with non vent wing doors have the sash where it bolts to the inner sheet metal torn or cracked. Why is this? What is the remedy to insure it does not happen.
