nocking
i called about a 1993 toyota 4x4, estd. cab, 5 speed, 3.0,187,000 miles,
in pretty good cond. he said, but it has a little nock in the bottom end of the motor, he asking $1500.00 is this worth it what would the nocking be?
and how much would it be to fix it?

If it's really knocking in the bottom end it's usually a sign of a rod bearing going, and to fix it properly requires a rebuild. Doing it yourself would cost a few hundred for parts, getting it done at a mechanics would be a few thousand.
You could just keep driving it, some motors will run for a long time after they start knocking, but there's always the chance of throwing a rod and destroying the engine completely.

I have a 3.0 with rod knock. I haven't decided to replace the engine or rebuild it yet. Chances are it's bearings right? Should be able to unbolt the con rod, remove the bearings, replace and reattach the rod and be good to go.
