4.88 with a manual tranny

AT LEAST 5.29's with the auto, and I'd really consider 5.71's if you spend a lot of time on hilly highways so you'll be able to pull the overdrive...

I would spend the little extra money on a suspention lift to accomadate the larger tires.... not so much for the rubbing, but for the apperance. It will make the truck look proportional. They way 881stGenRunner has his set up looks perfect.

1st Gen. 4Runner = 2nd Gen. Pick-up... so here's my truck with 33x12.50x15's with stock spec suspension, tires "touch"mudflaps at full lock, but that's it...<LINK>

Here is a shot of my 93 4runner with no lift and 33x12.50's on 15x8 steel rims that are 4" BS. You would need to trim, but it would work.

Ballz had 33/10.5 on stock wheels on his 2nd gen. No rubbing and they were bfg muds. Threw them on barts stock 88 Xtra cab and his splash gaurds rubbed but they were all fubar before the tires. He just cut them. If they were in good condition he would have had 0 issues. On ballz 2gen we had 33/12.5 15 with 3.75 back spacing in bfg a/t's and it rubber his steps.

10.5's look funny to me and the truck looks tall and thin. If you dont mind the cutting go wider but thats my opinion i know lots of people running 10.5's and love em.

runner on the right has 33/10.5's and it has way soft suspension and can stuff em with no rub.

Oh i thought i would throw it out there that its all about offset with tires Ballz has a 3inch body lift and is running my old 36/14.5/15's it only rubs at full lock and stuff on the pinch weld.

if your smart and buy in parts you can build a mild lift for a couple hundred, i bought some shocks off some guy who had them sitting forever, a panhard drop bracket which isnt expensive (like 75 after shipping) and alot of the time you can find ppl selling for like 45, bj spacers you can find for 75 (110 new)and 93?-99 lc coils for like 50, i bought my bj spacers new, same w/ pan hard drop but if your willing to spend that much you can fit 33x12.50 and have a wider selection of tires...
