no ignition spark

ya... well

I installed the distributor right...

have what wires I would assume to be necessary to be plugged in

and yet I still don't have an ignition spark (did a spark test)

I bought brand new distributor / wires / spark plugs for the hell of it, so I know its not a problem with those

Several possibilites, but I would look at the Ignitor. that is what fails most often when you lose spark.
