Newbie looking for input on first build, fuel milage, and 5.29's with 31's

So, if this is the case, then how do I fix this, and does the torque convertor just use the trans fluid? All my cars to this point have been manual, which I have successfully relaced, but I have never worked on an auto. Thanks.

You fix it by gearing properly for your tire size - that has been my point all along.
Yes, the fluid in the torque converter is the tranny fluid. (the torque converter is actually the pump that pressurizes and circulates the fluid)

If you let off the gas a little, you will see it shift like a 1/2 gear - that's the torque converter locking up. When the torque converter is not locked, you are generating A LOT of heat in the tranny - not good.

Anyways, I can't regear my diff., so I would have to buy a whole new third and I don't have the cash for that right now.
