Exactly how it functions, I don't remember. But, essentially it's a "boost" button for your Electronically Controlled Transmission....for making passes and uphill climbs. Google has all your answers as to how it works exactly. I'm sure you could find it on YT too, but have fun wading through all the threads.

Hi again-

The ECT PWR button on your console is there to allow for the transmission to be totally controlled by the ecu. (Electronic Controlled Transmission). Basically it adjusts the shift points and lock up speed of your tc to "match" what the ecu deems to be the best for the given driving condition. You won't notice a sudden burst of speed or something (although I wish!). It usually extends your shift points to a higher rpm and the lock up of the tc at a higher speed. It basically is designed for when you are towing or have lots of hills, in city driving. It really is most noticeable when in city with your o/d off, you get a higher rpm to pass and such. It will give you worse gas mileage.

Hope it helps.

Matt
