New wheels and backspace...

My current wheels on my 1986 rub the tie rod. i measured the backspace and it was 5 1/8. I am guessing this is why it rubs? I am looking at some cragers soft 8. would 4" backspace fix my issue? Looking for 15x8 6x5.5 with 3.75 for stock right?

Does it look like 1 1/8" more room would fix it? Otherwise a wheel spacer? Maybe go to tire place and see what they recommend. They can measure for you.

Yes it would fix it. Would like to avoid a wheel spacer.
