New Timing Chain install problem help please!

Hello New to the forum,
I have a 92 toyota 22re 4x4 Truck had alot of problems when i bought it I straightened them out and then heard the sound of the timing chain, so I tore the truck down and replaced the chain, gears, tensioner etc.. put it back together and installed the distributor, problem being when I set the timing to 5degrees it has no power, it idles fine but you put it in drive and go to take off it has nothing you hold it to the floor and your barely moving, anybody has this type of problem or know a solution maybe? I pulled the valve cover back off to check that at 0 the cam marks on the gear are at about 11 and they are. so at this point im lost any help?
Thanks

so advance the timing a little and see what it'll do. Are you sure you timed it proper? Are you sure you stabbed the distributor right? With my old 22re and all the mods done to it i advanced the timing quite a bit.

are you setting timing 5 BTDC with the jumper installed? You sure the jumper is connected properly? Ie the idle drops when connected. Also as stated above, make sure the distributor is not a tooth off as well.

If you set the timing without bypassing the computer, as soon as you start the truck it will try to advance/retard timing to correct on it's own. But there isn't enough room for correction in the magnetic advance to run right.
