Found the O2 sensor, its way back by the t-case, seems to be plugged in. I din't try disconnecting it to see if that made it worse or not.

I really need to find a manual, I had a link to the manual, but that was before computer crashed and the shop cleaned the drive to reload it. Please tell me where to go to find a downloadable manual for this thing.

I also need to find out how to check engine codes (if any) and check timing. The check engine light does NOT light when the key is turned on. I think thats bad, because it may be broken/disconnected.

No problems starting, and it seems to otherwise run fine, just really dog-slow on the power thing.

And I'm still not believing the tachometer...

i am looking into buy a 3.0 out of an 89 yot pickup. as far as we can see is it has two huge cams init. it is only $400. wha tkind of power do you think it has and? are these good motor and good motors to build?
