Question New Leafs. Any Ideas?

My leaf springs look like they're about to give up the ghost, so I'm looking for some new ones. The thing is, is that I'm looking to get rid of my 2" blocks in the rear, and since I've always liked the look of the rear just a tad bit higher than the front (along with the increased flex from bigger leafs), I was thinking about going with 4" leafs (and since I'm going to be installing some bj spacers, if I still want the rear to still be just a hair higher up than the front, I have to go with 4"ers instead of the 3"ers).

I was quoted $249.98 (or $124.99 a piece) at my local offroading shop, for 4" Superlift leafs, and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if thats right on the nail as far as cost goes, and what the quality of Superlift's leaf springs is.

On a side note, I extended my brake lines when I first installed the blocks, but I'm just wondering if yall think it'd be advisable to entend them a bit more now since I'll be adding a few more inches... Mmmm maybe I'll go steel braided this time!

Also, if anyone knows where to find an online version of the 4Runner FSM for an 89, I'd greatly appriciate it. Have always wanted to have it on my palm pilot thingamajigger...

Or even where to get a physical copy, I'll take the time to scan that thing!

I have Rancho leafs in mine and they are very smooth. About 3" of lift, no blocks.

Well the thing is, a smooth ride isn't really a prereq for me. I got less body roll than my diesel work truck! Plus, with my torsion bars being cranked 2", I can nearly get airtime going over speed bumps at like 15mph lol.

So 3" total lift, or a 3" leaf pack? Bout how much was the damage if you don't mind me asking? Use the stock shackles?

Get a 3" lift spring and shackle what else you want.

You dont want a BJ spacer larger than 1.5", and you dont want to crank your t-bars too much or your CV's will live a short life, even with manual hubs. That and with no down travel you loose lots off offroad ability.

4crawler.com has BJ spacers up to 1.5"

Dont forget a BJ spacer really doesnt make any more room for larger tires.

That sounds about right of a price. I heard SuperLift springs are really realy stiff, but have no personal experiance with them, or know of any with them on a Toyota (mostly Fords/chevy). I think if you goto downtown San Antonio off broadway and 8th (cant remember the other street, behind one of the dealerships there) there is a spring shop that makes customer springs for around the same price or less. They laylor them to how you want it (arc, max load capacity, etc). Might want to try them as well.
