Looking for Neutral Safety Switch
Part number 84540-35010.
Listed as not available.
Question: Is there a substitute or work aroundOR can they be rebuilt/repaired?

Well, yes you can bypass a NSS, but that means you could start in while in gear, and that could be bad. If you do something like that you should have a policy of NEVER loaning anyone your truck to anyone, ever.
But if it's failing you might try opening it up and seeing if anything can be done to improve the various connections. I believe the case is held together with rivets or something similar. You might have to cut off and replace with screws or bolt/nut.
