Need Help looking at Yote

I am looking at buying me Toyota pick up. I am fairly new to the Toyotas. I have found a 1986 4WD ext cab with the 22R and Automatic Transmission. This is the first one I have seen with the Auto Transmission. What are the pros and cons of this transmission? It has 186K on it.

My opinion... stick with the 5speed manual tranny. Unless your leaving it stock and staying on road/highway and off the gas. PS. Stay to the right please.

Biggest con is the 22r is no powerhouse especially with an auto.

If the truck is in good shape you can do a manual swap later.

I will be leaving it stock and mainly just driving it. Use it some on my land for working.

as long as you know what your getting you should be fine .

A little over 100 horsepower is not a speed demon.

Look for the normal rotted frame holes in the floor .

Timing Chain about to wear through the guides.

These are great trucks if you can do most all the work yourself If you need to pay for labor it gets expensive real fast.

This is at the mileage where it will start to need lots of attention if not all ready done.

I can do the work myself. Is the rust inside the cab above the frame?

Depending where you live rust could be any place Frame or anyplace in the cab

The beds pretty much just rust away.
