need help fast!!!

ok so im doing some stuff to the truck today, minding my own business, when i notice there is some coolant on the top of my radiator. so i start searching and find a small maybe half inch long hair line crack on the top of the rad by the cap...i need a quick fix that will get me thru a few more weeks, maybe a month...any ideas...i was thinking jb weld it, and then replace it when i can...

ps i have to drive 100 miles tomorrow, and am gonna do something about it tonight

JB Weld might work, if you can allow enough time for it to harden.

The mounting bracket broke off my radiator one time and I JB Welded it back to the radiator. Lasted years like that.

Make sure to carry several gallons of water with you on your trip back and get it fixed ASAP cause you overheat your engine and a new radiator will be the least of your problems.

Good luck.

Good luck.

i was gonna carry like two gallons of water, and another gallon of 50/50 mix prestone coolant with me...

the leak seriously isnt even like drips, it just kinda fizzes out coolant when under pressure

Just drain the Rad. down first, scuff up the surface so Jb has something to grip onto. Overnight would be fine.

That's odd, I do too. Just to the left of the cap. I mean, tiny. Just enough to seep out when hot.

Me too. I have let the coolant get down low enough(about 2 inches) so it doesn't seep out as fast. I also check the level every morning and watch the temp gauge. Radiators and head gaskets..the yotas' weak link.

JB weld will work for a while. RTV will not (it's under pressure).
A Radiator shop might be able to braze it for you.

A new radiator isn't that bad, around $120 or so.. Radiatorbarn.com
