Need help choosing shocks for 95 4runner

1995 4Runner SR5 2wd automatic 6 cylinder.
Need help choosing shocks for 95 4runner. I would like to have a stiffer ride, so that it rides more like my 89 Toy 4wd.
As an extra points bonus question,,, What are the largest tires I can put on the 4runner WITHOUT lifting it?

Additionally, I was ;ooking over the parts guy's shoulder at O'Reilly's when he was showing me shocks... Some seemed to have a longer compressed length and extended length. I asked if this would lift the 4Runner, and he replied, "yes." I was dubious, believing that the SPRINGS set the ride height... what say y'all?

I put new ones on my 942wd before the gasket blew. I could look back and see what they were. Be less than 1/2 price.

Did you put Gabriel air shocks on your 4runner? What PSI did you inflate them to?

Shocks shouldn't lift a truck unless they're unreasonably stiff or your old ones are completely blown out. Shocks are there to absorb impact, not to carry load, springs do that.
