I can understand the need to make a vehicle your own, even though I don't care for the lifted cars on super large wheels. Some of those guys have probably got thousands into those vehicles and probably look at those of us that dump money into 20+ year old 4x4's like we have lost our minds. It's all in what you want your vehicle to be.

On that note I'd damn sure roll a 64 Impala on some old school 13's in 100 spokes. Give me a drop top, some candy paint and a dozen switches and I'd have a blast cranking Robb Zombie at the local car show. But then I'm a little odd.

Don't hate, just laugh...... I do.

It isn't my thing either but there is a ton of work in those things. I think one rim is worth more than my 4Runner. Living in Las Vegas I get the unsupportive eye because I didn't build a desert racer.......yet. I've seen a few of those 'donks' in New Orleans when I was there. I prefer the low riders really, but more power to em. At least they are supporting the aftermarket!

they don't do the work, they have some "shop" do it

they do put a lot of money into them, I'll give em that, but that's about it...

Personally, I just don't like them... at all... if you're going to do that, do it to a Caliver, or even an old caddy, but don't ruin a muscle car by putting ginormis spinning "dub-duces" on it; that's the thing I really hate to see... I seen a GORGIOUS 68 Camero in Gainsville; beautiful blue with white rally stripes, awsome looking interior (not overdone and flashy, but done right), a sick looking 454 under the hood, but it was lifted like a foot with 24"s on it... that's officially made the whole car crap to me... put some stock wheels back on it and put it back to stock ride hight, and I'd easily pay $30,000 for it, if I had that kind of money...

Yeah, it's pretty ridiculous, but there are some people who get their beatermobiles on 30 inch rims and polish em up in their driveways, and you just gotta respect the hard work and sweat and blood they put into their cars like we put into our rigs. Theres guys who take their old rusty yota to shops to have the body redone and the suspension replaced and the interior redone too, but a bunch of us do the work ourselves too, so we really can't bash them all too much.

I agree they are ugly as sin though.

i know a guy who use to have a newer chrysler 300c with the hemi in it, he did the bently grill, new paint and some custom made 28s, it was slamed but useless.. at 1500 a pop for tires and then having to drive to some special tire shop to have them put on by hand or some thing crazy cause they were baiscally rubber bands and the tire machine would tear the tires up lol.. then he realized that if you hit a pot hole even at like 10mph your done and you need a new rim cause the tire would compress so far the lip of the rim would hit the ground... needless to say, he sold it and got back into minitrucks lol...not sure to laugh harder at the cars pictured above or the people driving them...seriously.. who rocks a mickey D's edition mid 80s buick regal lol

Not that I want to start anything but I can see both points of view. I too love a classic muscle car set up with factory specs, nice clean interior, factory restored paint and some nice polished factory rims with some period correct white walls on the pavement.

These guys see the same car we see and think it'd look better on 30's with a 12" lift. Either way it's what the owner sees in his or her rig that makes the vehicle. I for one am just happy that the old school muscle cars are being kept alive no matter the look.

that's a typical mall-crawler, they can be found everywhere. it can't be a typical Florida truck, it's missing the Swampers and/or Boggers (yes, and/or, cause I've seen 4 different tires, one Bogger, one Swamper, one BFG AT, and one street tire, lmao, only around here)

Look at those leafs! It's full out "U" shape I bet that thing rides niiiiice

I gotta try to get a pic of the Ford Touras Station Wagon that cruized around here that's all jacked up with a 350 in it and 40" Boggers, lmao, now that thing's goofy looking. You locals to my area have probably seen it

I agree 100%. There are people out there, some of whom are close friends, that can't understand why I took a 22 year old rig and dropped close to 4000$ into it to make it look like it does. I can't explain the need that I have to make this rig what I want it to be but the need is there.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other. All that matters is that you have a vehicle that you are proud to drive whether it be street or trail.

compared to NH, the only fords/chevies/dodges up there are lifted a max of 6 inches and usually have a plow.

in florida i see these extreme overkill rich redneck mall cruising piles of manure every day.
6 inches of lift is mild down here. silly rednecks, blocks are for kids

lol, yep, there's more down here like that than anywhere I think, that's the truth...

It's amusing though...

yeah it is, i've never seen so many trucks i could drive a civic under until i moved here

i may be guilty of owning a ford before, but it was "ONLY" lifted 7 inches and i towed my trailer for work everyday.....so it was practical.

...but it was found on road dead one too many times so i sold it....

does this count?

a Lincol with hydros?

I wish I would have gotten a pic of him three-wheeling through the parking lot

I think I would have chosen a lighter car to put hydro's on, if for some god forsaken I ever wanted to put hydro's on something... I though hydro's were just for hopping, and if you just wanted to be able to lift of lower the car at your convenience air bags were the way to go
