nasty rear glass noise

nasty rear glass noise

hey yall,
whenever i roll the back glass down on my 86 4runner about 1/2 way down it makes a poping noise, and then about3/4 the way down it starts squeeling realy loud and shrill..
any ideas on whats goin on?

Mine does that, too. I have always just assumed it's dirt and grit that made it past the weatherstipping. It has been making that sound for like 2 years now and the glass is starting to etch. The motor is still working, though, so I haven't worried about it too much.

The regulator track is probably rusting out. And the rollers are probably, too.

did you replace the screws for the plates I did and the new ones where longer and caught the gals like your first post I had to put a few washers on the screws to fix it.
