Mystery part

Hi all,
I'm doing my 2nd complete Toyota 4WD pickup restoration but this is a newer model (1987) and has unfamiliar parts. I should have taken more pictures. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks in advance.
I also note that this model doesn't have the rear drive shaft stabilizer - is that correct?

I had all my bolts and brackets plated as part of the restoration project which is why it's so clean.

The stabalizer i referred to is a large rubber mounted bearing that the driveshaft or UV joint sits inside to secure the gearbox end.

do you mean the carrier bearing that was used on some long bed/ex cab 4WD's?

I believe that part is some type of heat shield. It should bolt somewhere on the rear mount of your drivers side torsion bar. I have a part that looks near the same on my 1993 truck. Mine is in pieces as well or I could get you a pic.

Dropzone: Yes thats exactly what I meant, I wasn't sure what it was called and obviously my truck doesn't use one.

Coopster: I had all the metalwork done by Queen City Plating WA which is not an easy or cheap process the you are in Alaska where there are few facilities. I looked at the youtube videos but didn't want to spend the time and effort as I have limited time before it has to be completed.

Green93: Thanks! That must be it. I knew it had to be a heat shield but had no idea where it was mounted. Thanks again.
