as soon as i unscrewed my breather valve, i heard the *hiss* sound of air escaping. plus the little cap was locked solid. so i'm assuming this was my problem! i cleaned up the breather valve, made sure i could blow air through it and reinstalled it. we'll see if it works! now it's on to rebuilding my starter!

I changed the fluid in my front and rear diff using API GL-5 80W90.
that's what the FSM calls for, 10 bucks for a gallon jug at wally world

cleaning the diff breather didn't work, so now i'm changing the seal. i'm all the way down to the actual seal, thanks to some good writeups. however, that thing is rock solid. i cannot get it to come loose. any suggestions? is it gonna hurt to pound it inward to break it loose? cuz trying to pull/pry outward just isn't working and i'm worried about damaging the threads on the shaft.

got everything back in one piece and filled her up! i'm so worried i did something wrong and it's gonna leak even worse now though. . . .i guess only time will tell.
