Hello. I just bought a 1987 1st gen. Interior is rough but mechanically over all its good and there’s zero rust I was told the frame had been powder coated. It has a rebuilt 22re (manual) with about ~10k mi on it, has a 4in suspension and 2in body lift, 33x12.5x r15 hankook dyna pros, stage 2 clutch, some kind of exhaust, and geared. The not so great: a/c is broken not even lines running to vents, bad cv axel, back window is not wired up, radio wiring is a wreck, backseats only backs are screwed in I think all the parts are there but the pull knobs on the back of the seats needs to be looked at it’s not locking, front seats need to be looked at too trouble sliding and folding, no carpet, no back bumper.
I live in Atlanta and went to Tennessee to pick it up drove it back 139miles. About 30 miles or so head back in 75 the person who drove me up there called, I was billowing smoke . Pulled up to a loves, after a quick look I see the clamp has come off of the hose going the engine right above the alternator, got a new clamp on there to come and realize the alternator is scary loose the bottom bolt had fallen out. I attribute most of that too this car having not been a daily for a couple years and definitely had not been driven as fast. But no problems getting home after we tightened those things back up, ran smooth.
First things I need to do are go and tighten everything up in and around the engine and clean it up, then start working on the a/c, cv axel, and rear window. I only have the pictures I had been sent, I’ll take and post some tomorrow. My FSM should be here tomorrow too. I’m dailying this while working on it. Look forward to talking with y’all!
