My 4runner is leaking coolant!

I have a 93 v6 4runner all stock. it has been leaking for a while and it stems when i put radiator fluid in but doesn't if it's just water.. looks like it's leaking from the back driver side of the engine... i don't think it's a head gasket because there is no sign of oil in my radiator or signs of coolant in my engine... my co-worker said it could be my thermostat.. but im not overheating at all.... i tried looking for the old thread i made a while back but couldn't find it thanks in advance..

If you run a search in whatever forum you believe the thread to be in, hit the "advanced" feature and it will prompt you to find posts or threads made by any username. Use your name and it will turn up everything you've ever posted in that particular forum.

It would not be leaking from the back of the motor if it were leaking at the thermostat. You're thermo is at the bottom/front side of the motor. So, you need to look at the heater hoses at the firewall or the coolant bypass lines located behind the plenum/intake manifold assembly. There are also coolant sensors sitting back there that could be the source for your leak. If you need to, something to do would be to carefully wash the motor off and spray some foot powder where you think it might be leaking. Run the motor, and when it leaks, the leak will become evident. The foot powder will easily rinse off afterward. Just be careful around the sensors and try not to get much or any powder on them at the connectors.

If you don't fine the leak/leaks back there, try around the TB where the coolant hoses route through the bottom side. There's a small one that runs to and one from. It could leak from there and be running down your manifold towards the back.

Why it steams only with coolant is a mystery to me. Good luck.

yea no clue here either. Could be a heater hose if it drips down the firewall.
