$450 and it took approx 6 hours. 1 for lunch, 1 for the front end alignment and the rest on the install. I slowed them down a little, jumping in and taking the photos but they didn't mind and I got to be there while it was being done. There was no way I could have done this in my garage at home.

Thanks hillbillly. Yeah I wasn't sure if I'd like just the 2 inches but, it sure makes a difference not only on the look but the ride. It is so smooth now, I wish I would have done this years ago. I think if I would have went a 3 inch lift if wouldn't look as good with me only running 33s. I would love to put on a set of 35s but I don't think I have the hp to turn them.

Yep your right Mak, I think it would only look good with 35s but, they didn't make the Christmas Wish List for this year! Do you think that if I change the gears on the rear end, my 3.0L would be able to turn 35s?

Definitely, but don't expect a race car. I recently did 4.88s and its only noticeable off the line and in 5th gear on the freeway.

Ha...well I can't miss what I have never had, fast it is not, so I'm happy with reliable. So where did you get your 4.88s at? And they are the Aussie one's right?

Some 4Runners came factory with 4.88 gearing. I picked mine up at a junkyard, and then ordered Aussie lockers for both differentials.

Well I'm pretty sure mine didn't come with them. And the only junkyard in my area only has one 4runner that has been so badly picked apart, I know both front and rear are gone on it. I'll have to do some shopping around.

look for a dismantler, not a junkyard. I got mine from Specialized Parts Planet.

Right on...thanks for that. I've never even heard of a dismantler place around here....I do know however, I won't be asking and Totoya dealerships/parts dept.

No I didn't. Wasn't needed for the 2nd gen I'm told. And the old one fit right back into place after the coils were installed.

Thanks buddy. It's kind of funny how this 47 year old guy got all excited about taking the pics and making a post out of it but, I figured that it was only by seeing posts and right-ups of other guys doing this same thing and me learning things along the way, I suppose I folded under the pressure and finally got off my butt and did the same thing.

It's funny how on the front end that 1.5in lift really makes a big difference of the overall height. When I got out of the garage, I was driving around like a 18 year old in his first car showing if off.

I think you will like it if you choose that route, I'm quite happy with having it done and have actually had a few other 4Runner owners stop and talk to me asking about what kind of lift I've got because now 'they' want to do the same thing.
My next mod will have to be 4.88 gearing on the back end and a set of 35s.
