muffler for a 3.0

I need to put a new exhaust on my 93 pickup with a 3.0. I plan on removimg the cat, and muffler and putting a new muffler but no cat. Any thoughts on what the best muffler for a 3.0?
Thanks

I did a 2 1/2 with resonator muffles it more gets your low end pressure back you you don't get the annoying noise your muffler makes when down shifting. I did a flowmaster super 44

exhaust notes are personal preference. what sounds good to me may not sound good to you. try youtube. get what sounds good to you, not what everyone is ranting and raving about. i run a thrush glasspack and love the way it sounds.

and keep the cat. i just put mine back on today and it runs so much better with it over the gutted cat i had. i run without the cat because i dont want to burn the cat up (cheap aftermarkets don't last long) but i need to pass smog this month. so i think i'm gonna keep it on full time now as it runs and sounds much better.

Thanks for the replies. Im not as concerned about sound as I am performance. I was wondering if anyone knew what worked good as far as performance goes on the 3.0

Any updates Wood Racing? I'm in the same predicament...My cat was glowing red after driving only 30min. I'm debating whether to gut the cat and run straight pipe with no cat or to just replace the cat? I am only concerned about performance, not sound. How will gutting the cat hurt or help the performance? Any advice? Thank you for any help!
