Hey just joined the site with a few questions, After days of searching the forum and reading i thought i would join to ask a few things regarding more lift for my 88 Toyota 4x4 project truck with a 22R engine. I am almost finished getting this truck rebuilt and ready for the road.

Now i already have a 3" Body lift on 31" Mud tires and i would like a little more lift without going for the full Suspension lift just yet. After doing some research i came across the Solid Axle Swap, Didn't really want to go that far as of yet so thought i would look at options.

What is the best way to add some more lift to my truck? I have looked at the Pro comp 3.5" Rear blocks for under the leaf springs but how can i raise the front?

Please please please dont go blocks in the rear, its a crappy way of lifting...
Bj spacers will bring you up another 1.5 in the front..

umm, Then some AAL or some shackles for the rear..
You could even get 2or3" lift springs from Downeyoff-road.com

i always hear you guys talkin about it but cant decipher what it means...
is it something for only trucks?

scuba has the easiest and cheapest solution for IFS (independent front suspension) lift.
other alternatives would be a bracket lift, a long travel kit, or SAS and and then whatever necessary to lift the rear to match.

Blocks suck. So they lasted a day, thats great....

Go with longer leaf springs in the rear and bj spacers up front. Or just buy a 4" lift kit and go with the new rear spring option..

Thanks for the ideas, A good welcome to the site. When i purchased the truck a month ago it came with a set of homemade ball joint spacers that were just not a good fit so i gave them away - They were only about half of a inch.

I will be adding 33" tires in a few weeks once i find a buyer for my current 31's. Reason for wanthing to go bigger is something else to learn and a project.

Looks like i'm going to go with the BJ ball joint spacers and shackles for the rear

Does anyone have a link to where everyone is buying the ball joint spacers and a good set of rear shackles

The links have already been posted (above).
Don't forget that you'll now need longer shocks else (assuming the existing shocks are sized correctly), you'll loose some total flex.
You'll most likely want to extended the front sway bar links to get the sway bar back into the most effect position, though I think most people here on this site don't.

If the rear is a little sagged like mine was then you can do a coil assist in the rear. I gained almost 3 inches of lift in the rear which put it 1 1/2 inches higher than the front end and then went with 1 1/2 inch bj spacers in the front to level it out.

This is right after the spacer install, took about 2 hours from start to finish. The tires are 31's so I could easily fit 33's if I wanted to.
