Hello everyone, I've been searching around for converting my ADD hubs on my 94 pickup to manual hubs and have been getting conflicting info. Do I need the conversion kit, or is it only for the automatic hubs? I was looking into going with either the mile marker hubs or the superwinch hubs for cost value, and as wondering if anyone had experience with either of these hubs. Would the conversion process for these two brands be the same as the Warn hub conversion writeup? Thanks for the input.

 

No spindle nut kit needed to swap ADD for manual - only gaskets. I JUST got the Superwinch hubs..... I'll be putting them on this week. Should be the same install as WARN/ AISIN (per LeeBee, thanks)... I can take some pics if I see something different.

 

Hey guy. Don't know about the others but I would go with Aisins you can't beat them and they are a more or less direct bolt on repalcement no kit to buy just a gasket or two. They come up in the classifieds here from time to time or on ebay. You might also try a wrecker. Theres an 88 at a wrecker here if you are interested i might be able to see if they are still on it for you. I just got mine today and no you can't have them haha. There is a great write up in the tech section about this conversion (i'm using it myself). Hope this helps Aviator

 

Doesn't the aisin hubs reuse the cone washers, while the warn ones don't? Just wondering if the super winch one re uses those washers or not? Dont really want to deal with those. I just saw a used warn premium pair for sale? the guy claims its under a month old. Should I look into that?

 

I have Warn Premiums and like them a lot. I would check into those. Lifetime warranty, and they are designed to be the "fuse" to keep you from breaking bigger stuff.

Took longer to get the wheels on/off than to actually swap out the ADD plates for the hubs

 

The guy selling the hubs told me that he uses silicone on the hub instead of the gasket. Would that be alright, or would the gasket be necessary? Also, how can I check if the hubs are in working condition. He wants sixty $ for them but I haven't seem them yet.
