I don't think 22RE headbolts are torque to yield. I do think it is a good idea to replace head bolts that have been in and out as many times as these seem to have been. Head bolt failure does not seem to be a cause of many 22 RE head gasket failures. Studs are probably overdoing it.

well obviously somethings not right.
Is the head gasket actually blown? In other words are you sure the head or block are not cracked or warped?
Bad parts, improper assembly, warped or not properly cleaned gasket surfaces could lead to blown head gaskets.
Make sure that the head bolt holes are cleaned and the bolts cleaned and lubricated before torqueing
The 22R does not have torque to yield bolts.
Make sure you are using a good torque wrench and proper technique.

I believe the only correct way to check alum. heads is by pressure testing and or dye check..Magna-fluxing is using magnetic power and and eletromagnet to seperate the poles on ferrous metals and see cracks. JMO Been doing it all my life. Bi metal engines do strange things when they heat up.
