Maf Help!! Alt. Help

Today I was working on my 87 Runner and thought that it would be a good idea to clean my MAF. I preceded to unscrew the 4 little screws that hold the plate on and tried to pry it off. There was some silicone around the plate so I scraped it off and removed it. To my surprise, I relized that I had ripped the whole deal off from the circuit it was soldered to. Can this be fixed? I also had trouble with putting my new alternator on. I could not for the life of me get the Alternator to plug to clip in. I even removed the Alternator and tried pluging it in in the open so I could see what I was doing. Any sugestions?

Sounds like a run to the parts store.

Its quite amusing to see people repeat the same mistake with their AFM. Resolder the contacts to the trace board of the AFM and get some silicone rtv from the auto parts store to restore the seals. As for the alternator you are either doing something wrong or the connector does not fit.

I found a post on someone who took out the AFM,GRRRRRR, and they had to remove the plastic cover to get to the contacts. Is that the only way?

That or spend the $40 + shipping to buy one from the FS section.
