Lurch when starting/stopping to give gas
#1
Clunk/Lurch in gear 1990 4runner
My rig: 1990 4runner 3.0 Manual 4x4.
I've have searched other threads and heard my problem described but never solved. Basically when my truck is in gear and I start to give it gas quickly, it lurches. The same thing happens when I take my foot off the gas quickly. It almost feels like my transmission is moving under the car and my shift knob will move forward or backward a little when it lurches. The problem is more prevalent in lower gears but still present in higher ones. My u-joints and motor mounts seem fine. I just replaced the transmission mount thinking that would solve it and it didn't seem to do much. It's annoying because I have to time my shifts so that my foot stays on the throttle a little (but not long enough to send more than 2rpms through my 3vze glass head gasket) while I put the clutch in.
If you have/had the same problem and fixed it please let me know.
Thanks
