Thumbs up low idle on cold start

Yotas:

I need your help. I have a 94 SR5 4Runner with 166,000 miles that runs great after warm up. Ijust
replaced the clutch set, rear mair and transmission front seal. I have a couple of leaking valve cover gaskets that I can do myself. But one tricky problem remains.

My problem is that on startup the idle is low <800 rpms and I know this is not right. I can rev it up and speed up the warm up. These 3.0 V6's do not have a choke. When I look in the FSM "low first idle" lists a numerical order of things most likely:

#1 is Accelerator Pedal Link: Has anyone made this adjustment?
#2 Dash Pot? I can find this, anyone with experience on Dash Pot fix or check?
#3 Throttle Opener (adjustment anyone)
#3 ECT Sensor Circuit

#4 Idle Speed Control Valve
#5 ECM

Keep in mind: The FSM lists these in order of priority and asks me to to check them in order. In one other post someone had a similar problem and replaced the spark plug wires, rotor and cap. This solved their problem.

My plan is can we come up with a list of things I can check.

1. New spark plug wires, rotor and cap?
2. Cold start injector.
3. Water temp sensor for cold start/ idle
4. Replace or reset TPS]
5. Vaccuum leak?
6. Other

Note: I have turned the screw for the air mix on the throttle body to set the rpms at 800 rpms as per speck when engine is at operating temp. Car idles fine when warmed up to operating temp.

Any and all help is appreciated.

I have turned

re

i dont think it would be the cold start inj... they normaly would couse it to run rough at idle.....if it is running good just low idle when its cold i think i would look at the i.a.c. motor (if equipted) or somthing along that line...
double check timing mine loped at idle till i got my timing right...

Timing Idea

Thanks: I will double check the timing at 800 rpms with my timing light and the check connector wire across TE1 and E1 of the data link connector.

Great place to start. I'll ping the board when this is done. FSM says correct timing setting at 10 degrees bftdc @ idle with the check connector wire in. It then says 8 degreesBTDC @ idle with the wire removed at the 800 rpm +/- 50rpm.

Please advise if different.
