You'd be hard pressed to find a tube style swing out for your '86. You can keep your eyes open on Scotty's site: http://www.addictedoffroad.com/ for he's working on a semi tubular/lambo style swing for his first gen 4Runner. Or you could pick up a rear Marlin bumper and add to it.

Here's an excerpt from a PM I sent:

I would research and find bumpers else where. They take FOREVER to turn around orders and when I called about better ways to mount it, the guy was idiot and told me I was wrong. The bumper mounts using flat steel plates and bolts along the SIDE of the rear frame. I called and asked if they sold a mounting kit to go inside the frame rails(like this: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/RearBumper.shtml ), just like my FACTORY step bumper. Reason being, my shackles were grinding up against the plates. He told me that no bumpers ever mounted that way. I'm just saying BUYER BEWARE!!! I think if you search this site for them, you'll find other burned customers.

If you want pics, I'll be more than happy to send them to you!!! All in all, I do like my bumper, but there are some flaws that iritate me(ie:spare tire studs WAY to short, hi lift jack mount interfers with everything, there's no lock out pin for the swing out...etc). It is beefy and quiet, no rattling-much.

Like I said earlier, there's not much out there for a "tube style" swing out. There's another site called ProtoFab that use to make a swing tube bumper for Yota trucks, NOT 4Runners.

If you decide to go with Ktm, make sure you get the "side pieces" to replace the plastic. I didn't know that was an option and have regreted it ever since. Don't get the CB mount or the licence plate mount and it's up to you if you want the jerry can holders(I'd only get one, even though I have two and I'll be hacking one of eventually).

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. At first it was like within a week, then 12 weeks later.... Also, it was cheaper to send the bumper to a shipping depot than to a residential address so keep that in mind.

oh, if you have money to burn let me know!! I could always use extra!

Money to burn eh? Go get a welder some tubing and a tubing bender, and get to work.

Blazen Offroad sells that drop down tire carrier for $399 . . . same truck on their site that you posted, but I think their price is too high -- I'm thinking I could bend one up for my existing bumper for <$100

Yeah thats where he got it. Dont have a pic of it on his ride, so that pic is from their site. But it is very well build & it bolted up very nice. We were very happy with it. Ive been talking to these guys at a speed shop here where i live. They do roll cages in cars and such. They just dont seem to interested in doing a bumper for me. And if i had enough money to burn to get a pipe bender, (and id love to have one) id be building one for me & some to sell. Got the welder & plasma cutter already. And money to burn, eh it aint much, lol...
