looking for a part number or a better way
Hello again,
I recently found myself needing to replace a wheel stud on the front passenger side. While disassembling the front hub/ axle assembly needed to get the rotor assembly off I needed to remove the circlip that keeps the axle in the front hub. I need a part number for this clip or a size or something. Some other post that I have searched make mention of replacing with a better circlip with the hole in the end to spread the clip off, but did not give a size or diameter. I would appreciate some help as I put the old one back on and I don't trust it and I don't want to drive the truck with a suspect part.
Thanks.

I replaced mine with snap-rings. I can't remember what size I bought. I just matched them up with the old circlips I brought with me when I purchased them.
But...
I did keep my old circlips. Lucky you. I just measured the ID on them and they're about 1&1/16". If you can get that size snap-ring, I bet they'll fit perfect.

Thank you MudHippy. I went to the local auto parts store and got the 1 1/16 and 1biger and 1 smaller. One of them fit perfect. Had a little spread going over the splines and closed up perfectly when it got to the groove. The snap ring is definitely a better way. It is a lot more secure now then it was with the circlip before I took it off. It had probably been reused once before already and then I came along and killed it. Thanks again, I was afraid that I would have to go to the dealer or by a whole kit for a clip. Repacked everything with grease and I am on the road again.
