Trying to figure out where this oil leak is coming from before I start tearing into things. Any thoughts.

Likely the main seal, no puddle on top of the water pump indicating a leak of the hidden bolt or timing cover to head junction and it's wet all the way to the top of the picking hook

Never changed the front or pump seal before, how much of a pain is it? Getting the crank bolt off seems like it would be a pain.

Pump seal is a cake walk. Main can be a bear without a good puller but it is still doable. Poke around for part numbers and you can get one of two seal thicknesses, the thinner one is generally recommended since it lets you place it at a new depth and avoid the wear mark on the old balancer.

With some luck, and a manual transmission, the crank bolt will come off with little effort. If you have an automatic transmission you'll likely have to resort to bumping it loose with the starter or locating a SST to hold the crank in place.

Before you dive in!

Get it clean and dry. Then you'll be able to localize the leak, if you can't see it weeping anywhere obvious it will certainly be the main seal. Another tell tale sign is it running down the oil pump housing when parked nose down.
