Yeah you can retrofit the e locker into any 8" toyota axle. I haven't seen a write up for putting it in the front, but I would imagine that it would work up front as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong

I've been watching this thread and doing some research and I really need to step in here and let you know that retro fitting an E-locker into an older rig is really really a bad idea.

All sorts of things can go wrong like leaving your Jeep buddies behind, pulling a "Capt. Kirk", getting miles out into the wild and up trails that you never have been able to before....... Send it to me and I'll throw an exorcism on it.

And install it in mine.

Keep us posted.

I just ordered my switch and harness. I ended up going through 12voltguy.com here's the switch I'm getting, except instead of just saying locked it's gunna say "locked n' loaded" haha and its gunna be brushed aluminum instead of black. I'll post up pics as soon as I get it and....I'll be cuttin and grindin my axle here in a week or two!

Here's the switch I'm getting

It would probably be off of a TRD tacoma w/ 8" rear axle.

Here's a video of the switch temporarily hooked up before I put the locker in and permanently mount the switch

Thanks 12voltguy!

Good luck. Are you gonna post that install and mod on this thread? Or you got another thread going for the modding and stuffing of that into an older diff?
