bro that's a nice action-shot there of the rusty gas pissing outta the filter

lol, that's some nastey stuff

I replaced mine with about 285k on it!!!

the fuel that came out didn't look that bad, lol, but I had the intake manifold off, and it was pretty much right there, so I replaced it...

I tried before removing the intake, and I said screw this, and just hung onto the filter for about 4 months, lol

I had mine off in like 15 mins. Of course being cold out was a motivator.
My old filter pissed out rusty crap like that after the gas. That was the whole cause of my no start condition.
Anyone move their filter to the upper wheel well?

I just get the 13 dollar ones and replace them every 6 months... Have had no issues.. works well for me!

Mine is right above the passenger rear wheel.......easy to get to.

Also that is dirty, hopefully it will get cleaner!

EVERY 6 months! That seems like overkill to me. I say at most every other year.

this is why the 22R is much better than the 22RE the fuel filter takes about 1 min to switch the hardest part is going and buying a fuel filter

so simply the fuel-filter location makes one motor superior to another?

I've got a fuel filter sitting in my garage but I can't get my old one off. It's been sitting there for 3 months now. Anyone have any tips on removing the hard lines and replacing them? That damn thing is just tight as hell

Odo. says 132k miles and been sitting for five years. Obviously I haven't owned the truck very long.
