Looks great! Thanks for continuing to keep up with the updates despite some "non focused" comments that were attempting to take away from the point of the thread.

Can't see really well from the pics but looks like a real nice blend on the tail weld. The contours look good. Again pretty work.

nice job OP, i love the look of bobbed longbeds. its funny how many ppl in this thread says its all about how you want it to look, when really its all about departure angle. also bobbed bed looks AND functions a whole lot better than the flat bed.
oh and a stock 84-88 longbed/extracab wheelbase is 115" hub to hub, just to clarify someone on the first page said it was 121.5"

Looks good! Good "old" beds are getting harder and harder to find in decent condition.

PS. Quit hi-jacking this guy's thread or get a temp vacation to talk to yourself.

thanks wabbit. let me say its possible for a single guy to put a bed on from 15 feet away. thanks to my crappy dolly and a peice of wood. i kinda guessed on my new shock mounts and made them too short. so i need smaller shocks. hopefully everything will be done before i go to lousiana next week.

final note. got the bed for free. spent 10 bucks on blades. and had all the paint. i am happy! the flatbed pic i posted was when it was new. heres is side profile shot, looks horrible.

I don't get it, why would you get a long bed just to bob it? I thought the flatbed looked better. You did a bad job anyway. Blah, blah, blah, hate...

It looks good man. Is that your DD, or just for wheeling? Either way, a clean NE truck. It looks kind of like an xtra cab without the xtra cab. Was it harder to bob the frame or bob the bed? Is there any point in bobbing an xtra cab? I'm looking at mine now and I think I could only take out like 6 inches.

i choped the frame 2 years ago right to the leaf spring mounts, so the longbed was sticking out 18 inchs unsupported. alot of people done realize they make 2 differnt wheel bases with the single cab second gens. i usally use it for trails only but now it will be haulin trash and leaves and that fun stuff. the supercharged 4runner is the daily driver
