Long shot conversion.

I have the chance to pick up a 81 4WD standard cab pickup for pretty cheap. I am wanting to drop my 92 ext. cab 2WD body on a solid axle frame. I figured with the year and cab difference this won't work, but I figured it was worth a shot. Anyone know for sure if they would line up?

Anything is possible with enough work. There is a write up on Pirate about a 2x4 conversion.

i would say that there will be issue with mounting locations. Nothing a little cutting, grinding, and welding cant take care of.

Yeah your only real problem is shifter and body mounts. You may have to chop a little out of your hole and relocate your body mounts. Nothing a torch, MIG, and couple days cant handle.
