Lift or soft top? What would you do?

Okey dokey. In looking at the budget I've got enough money to do one of two things for the 4runner.

1) Buy the Killer Toy Top.
or
2)Buy rear lift springs, shackles, ball joint spacers and shocks.

The good thing about number 1 is that it takes a few weeks to assemble and get shipped to me (according to the web site) and I'll be able to save money during that time for the other goodies.

The good thing about number 2 is that I can start wheeling some larger stuff as soon as it gets all bolted in.

Thoughts?

I think the lift will do more all around then the top.
Don't get me wrong the top would be nice but if you don't intend on having a mall crawler then the lift is going to be the better deal 10 fold.

Holy geez, those tops are HOW much??? Go with the lift, its a quicker return on investment. Besides, I have a soft top for mine which I scored on ebay like four years ago for dirt cheap. Needs some work, it's still in the box. lol!

I would do the suspension first.

Ricky I have a used Kayline soft top I bought from a member here a few years ago. The top was missing a few parts and I never installed it.

If you are interested I will sell it for $200.00, I think I paid $375.00 It needs the 2 hoop sections I was going to make some from aluminum tubing but I am really just not into it.

Let me know if you would like to look at it.

Go with the soft top and leave your IFS stock. No need for a lift unless you want it for looks. 86-95 IFS wheels better no lift.

Jk idk man..

Tops are nice, but i would rather have a lift..
What lift are we speaking of?

I'll sell you two hooped sections for $100 and make myself some new ones.

Why would want a lift ? Wheeling is overrated !

does you stock rig satisfy you? If it does all you need, then dress your girl out. I want to get a soft top for my pickup...i love them. I would do that before a lift.

Thanks for the replies folks.

The reason I'm leaning toward the lift is because I drag the fuel tank on rocks as it is, that and I want to keep the body out of harms way as much as I can. I really really want the soft top before our rainy season starts and the KTT looks bad @$$.

Thanks to you two that offered up the top and parts. I'll have to decide if I will be happy with the Kayline although 300$ total for a soft top is a great freaking deal.

Had a CanBack...overrated. The Killer Toy Tops are very nice and I will eventually own one but it will be on a stock 4Runner, not one with a lift.

Flip a coin.
