Leaking oil Batman!

So I have a 87 4runner with a rebuilt engine. The previous owner could not get it to start. While trouble shooting it, I noticed a good amount of oil leaking from the left front of the engine between the head and block. Bad tq maybe or bad gasket? Any help would be great.

Most likely leaking Valve cover gaskets. Is it the 3.0?
Post some pictures, as they say, they're worth more than words.

Cheers

It's a 22re. I never posted a pic here so I will need to figure that out. But it is leaking between the block and head.

Red face

By a good amount of oil you mean you have a huge puddle of oil on the floor ??

Alternator soaked with oil ??

Just how low is the oil level is it off the dip stick??

Clean things off to make sure .

Once you know for sure it is the head gasket I would check the compression just in case .

Getting any mixing of coolant and oil ??
